Data policy — rights of use

This policy applies to Earthian Natural Catastrophe Data made available under a valid commercial licence between you (or your organisation) and Earthian AI. It governs rights of use only. It does not describe data provenance, technical specifications, or support terms.

Reference framing (permitted use and citation)

Public data portals often publish terms that encourage reproduction and adaptation when the source is cited and the material is not misrepresented. That general style of “rights of use” language—for example around acknowledgement of source and responsible reuse—informs how we structure this policy. It does not import unrelated provisions (such as privacy, liability, or map disclaimers) from third-party sites.

1. Scope

“Earthian Natural Catastrophe Data” means the natural-catastrophe–related data, scores, signals, extracts, and API responses licensed to you by Earthian AI under your agreement. If your licence defines the dataset more narrowly, the licence text prevails for scope.

2. Permitted use during an active licence

While your licence is valid and fees (if any) are current, you may use the data only for the internal purposes expressly allowed in your licence (for example risk analytics, underwriting, portfolio management, or treasury, as stated there). All use must stay within user limits, technical controls, and territorial or segment restrictions in the licence.

3. No use or storage after licence expiry

When your licence ends or is terminated for any reason, you must cease all use of Earthian Natural Catastrophe Data. You must delete or destroy copies in your systems, models, caches, backups created for operational recovery, sandboxes, and notebooks, except where applicable law requires a narrower retention for a specific legal hold—and then only to that extent and under confidentiality. Expiry ends your right to query, refresh, or rely on the data for new decisions.

4. No rebuilding, substitute products, or other products

You must not use Earthian Natural Catastrophe Data (in whole or in material part) to create, train, calibrate, or validate a separate database, score, index, or model intended to replace or replicate Earthian’s offering, or to power a product or service for third parties that competes with Earthian. You must not merge licensed feeds into a multi-vendor “synthetic” catastrophe dataset offered as your own product without Earthian’s prior written consent.

5. No distribution or sale to other entities

You must not sublicense, sell, rent, loan, publicly display, or otherwise provide Earthian Natural Catastrophe Data to any third party except as expressly permitted in writing (for example to a regulator or auditor under confidentiality, if your licence allows). Your affiliates and subprocessors may receive the data only if your licence explicitly permits and they are bound in writing to terms at least as strict as this policy.

6. Citation and attribution

Whenever you use Earthian Natural Catastrophe Data in analyses, reports, models, filings, client materials, or software outputs shown to third parties, you must clearly identify Earthian AI as the source and include the product name (or the name stated in your licence). You must not remove or obscure source metadata supplied with the data. You must not imply sponsorship or endorsement by Earthian beyond what your licence states.

7. No implied rights; conflicts

This page is a summary for convenience. Your licence agreement and any data-processing or security addendum control if there is a conflict. Earthian may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be communicated as described in your agreement.
